This Guide Will Show You Every Field On The Search Page and How It Works

- Industry Selector
- Multi-Select
- Choose Which Industry Database you want the results to come from.
- Can Select One or Multiple Industries
- Example: Machine Tools and Hi-Tech - results would be a combination of the Machine Tools and Hi-Tech Databases
- Auction Date Range
- Two MM/YYYY Date Fields
- This allows you to specify the range in which the items were sold. Only interested in items sold in the year of 2020? You can fulfill that requirement by entering 01/2020 - 12/2020
- Example: Filling out the Auction End of 10/2021 would make it so that all of your results were sold before October 2021.
- Auction
- Autocomplete Dropdown
- Using this field you can select a single or multiple auctions that you want to search through
- Example: Choose auction 32009 and all of your results will only be from that auction
- Category
- Dropdown Field
- Choosing a category will be sure that all of your results exclusively come from the category you are requesting
- Example: While looking for results on vertical machining centers you can select the category of CNC-VERTICAL MACHINING CENTRE to be sure that all of your results are that type of equipment
- Size
- Text Field
- We store sizing information in our database for items. Have an idea of the size your are looking for? Type in the simplest version of that size into the search box to help filter results
- Example: 2”
- Note: Keep your size search as simple as possible. Less is more when it comes to filtering by size
- General Search
- Text Field
- This field searches every field we have in our system all at once. Not sure if the information you have is a serial or a model number you can use the general search to look across our database at once. This can be used alone for searches or can be used in conjunction with our other fields to isolate machinery. If General Search isn’t providing specific enough results you can always fill out the other fields to isolate a more specific set of results
- Example: Renishaw
- Make
- Autocomplete Text Field
- Use this field to not only find a make in our system, but to look up makes. As you begin typing into the make field, we show you results for the closest matches in our database. This will make sure you are not wasting any time searching for a misspelled or mistaken manufacturer
- Example: HAAS
- Model
- Autocomplete “Smart” Text Field
- The model field begins to show various options in our database as you type. If you fill out make first our system will only show possible models for that make in the autocomplete dropdown.
- Example: VF-1
- Year Range
- Two YYYY Date Fields
- The Year Range is available to help you isolate the manufacturing year of the items you are search for. You can use it to find all machinery made before or after a certain date or between a certain range of years
- Example: 1994-2005
- Sell Price Range
- Two Number Fields
- Use the sell price range to quickly filter out unrelated results. Some users will place the low number as 5000 since they do not want any results that are under that number. You can also use it to find pricing within a range. “How many Milling Machines sold between $__ — $___?”
Example: $5000 - $20,000
